Beckett’s will be taking our Town & Country series to Borrodell Estate situated on the picturesque slopes of extinct volcano - Mount Canobolas, bringing city chic and opulence to the country as a Pop-Up event during Orange’s 2023 F.O.O.D WEEK.
Chef patron Jeff Schroeter will be taking over the stoves at this luscious country vineyard and truffle farm serving up some of his tasty signature dishes. The 4-course menu will not only feature Jeff’s classic bistro style but also incorporate all that grows seasonally at Borrodell and locally.
Hailing from a small country town near the Riverina of NSW, Jeff’s three decades of cooking began with his desire to work with the best, leading him to Brisbane, Sydney, London, Switzerland, and Manhattan before returning home to launch or reinvigorate many of Sydney’s most loved and innovative restaurants over the last two decades.
His food is modern European with a dash of New York and London and based on sound French technique, often utilising unusual ingredients and textures, while still having a love for the classics.
Borrodell Estate is as famous for its brilliant cold climate wines as it is for its orchard and trufferie. Everything they grow is based on their strong ethical land conservation philosophy, which is appreciated by the top chefs and drink makers in the country, who go well out of their way to come to Orange to source their produce.
This is a once-off dining collaboration of city and country not to be missed.
